Micelle, as always...timely and incredibly creative. I could feel the emotion from the dance pieces! The costumes and the music together send the message loud and clear. I look forward to your next performance, and would highly recommend it to everyone looking for some original entertainment and artistry!

Great performance on Saturday! I thought the show was very powerful; the dancers were all very focused did a good job projecting their emotions through dancing. I liked the back drop pictures, I felt like that added a lot to the show. The blood and oil was so intense, I almost cried during that performance. I also liked the variety of dance movements, music, costumes, and the glow sticks were awesome! Cant wait for the next show. Keep up the good work :)

I saw the show yesterday, and it was fantastic. I'd enjoyed last years show and was glad I could make it this year, both to see the dance and to support my friend Alice Ngo. She is an amazing performer-both in terms of acting and dancing. You can tell she really feels what she is dancing about, if that makes any sense.
My only critique is that it would be nice to have an actual copy of the write-ups that describe what the dances are about which are projected on the screen. Its good to go back and reread them and think about how the performance related to the topic after seeing the show.

‎'4' is a great piece about human movement and its relationship to trauma and tragedy. Ultimately triumphant, the finale is a coming together that culminates all of the emotions involved with overcoming adversity. This is a good demonstration of smooth movements mixed with harsh realities. Thank you for this video

I was very moved by the performance. Touched many areas that are very important in what is occurring in our world. The dedication of the dancers was clear. I particlarly enjoyed the emphasis on concerns relating to the journey women experience in dealing with concerns about body image. The choice of music was outstanding and the explanations of the meaning behind each piece really brought it to life!

Every dance piece was like taking a step towards another reality. Each one demonstrated countless emotions such as sadness, anger, sympathy and more. From the fluid movements of the dancers, to their effusive portrayal of emotions, this dance production was wonderful. I was both honored and grateful for having been invited in partaking in a wonderful dance event. I congratulate all the members of Visceral Resolution for all their hard work and dedication.

For a long time I had heard about the artistic choreography performed by Visceral Resolution and it was only on Aug. 22 that I witnessed such a splendor of artistic expression through music and dance. Each piece unique in its own interpretation brought out GREAT emotions from sympathy, to anger, sadness, and empowerment. One in particular that left an enormous impression on me was the environmental piece and the magic of the choreography that illustrated the earth's vulnerability and struggle against man's own destruction and negligence. What Micelle has done in executing these dance pieces, accompanied by a unique selection of fantastic music, is simply GENIUS! "4" leaves an impact that both moves you in ways to feel empowered, saddened, enlightened, and desiring a commitment to promote a show that carries a powerful message that has to be shared with the world!

"4" is a show that really enveloped storytelling & social issues in a creative and unique way. The first number was definitely my favorite in inspiring the "unaccepted" girl I was as a child and how I often beat myself up over weight issues and fitting in. This relatability is important in reaching a wider audience with dance. Micelle has succeeded on this level.

After seeing "4," I am positive that Visceral Resolution is a one-of-a-kind gem! Micelle's passion for creating positive social change could be felt through all of the dances. The dancers painted a beautiful piece of moving art and the engaging music supported the message. Thank you for a great experience!

My favorite was "come-on-a my house". The swing theme was energetic and moving. The modern interpretations of the themes in "4" would appeal to college students and adults alike. The thought of changing our world is a theme which can not be forgetton must be incorporated in every form of communication.Thank you, Micelle, for expressing these themes in live performance. It truely hit home for me and many others! Great job. Excellence.

Micelle has always been a very natural, gifted dancer. She makes dancing look effortless and fluid. Her body is in perfect tune with the rhythm of the music and the elements she is expressing with it. "4" is her first full production in which she the writer (and what a writer!), choreographer, director, recruiter and dancer.

"4" was a very well thought, designed, choreographed and performed Jazz Dance show where audience members found a clear message of conflict and rejection that many teens and adults experience because of the way they look. Obesity was one of the main theme in all the performance. I found it extremely courageous to actually represent this issue that plagues America with an overweight but talented dancer who fully expressed the peer pressure and neurosis in attempting to "keep" up with the other "Barbie-doll-almost-robotic" dancers on stage.

One of my favorite pieces was "Iron Man" where the message of social issues as working together to make it better for all was loud and clear.

"4" inspired me to consider the production of a future Dance/Film Performance aimed to increase the awareness of America's Oil Addiction. I will be discussing details with Ms. Horner, should she find the subject of interest.

I am looking forward to see more performances from Micelle and her team of dancers.

Thank you

I found it extremely courageous to actually represent this issue that plagues America with an overweight but talented dancer who fully expressed the peer pressure and neurosis in attempting to “keep” up with the other “Barbie-doll-almost-robotic” dancers on stage.

One of my favorite pieces was “Iron Man” where the message of social issues as working together to make it better for all was loud and clear.

“4″ inspired me to consider the production of a future Dance/Film Performance aimed to increase the awareness of America’s Oil Addiction. I will be discussing details with Ms. Horner, should she find the subject of interest.

I am looking forward to see more performances from Micelle and her team of dancers.

Thank you

I am responding here to what is posted on your Facebook site ( http://www.facebook.com/pages/Visceral-Resolution/116982479103?ref=mf ) because I don't want to join Facebook. First of all, I think that Art and Politics belong together, but joining them is an extremely delicate operation -- one slip, and you get the fatal consequence of didacticism or moralizing. Two of my favorite artists are the classical German poets Friedrich Schiller and Heinrich Heine. Both were intensely political; Schiller was imprisoned for writing a play that offended the local prince, and Heine spent the latter part of his life in exile, living in France to avoid imprisonment in Germany. Although their styles are quite different, they both chanced upon the same metaphor to warn against making Art into a political soapbox: they speak of the winged horse Pegasus, who was said to be the steed of the Muses, being made into a common workhorse. Here is an excerpt from a very long poem by Heine:

               Dream of summer nights! Fantastic,
Pointless is my song. Yes, pointless
Just like love, or just like living,
               Like creator and creation!

               Only its own zest obeying,
               Whether galloping or flying,
In the realm of fable bustles
               My belovéd Pegasus.

              	Not a virtuous and useful
               Cart horse for the bourgeoisie,
Nor a mount for warring parties
               That, pathetic, stamps and whinnies!

Schiller's poem, "Pegasus in Harness," is too long to post here, but here's a link to a good translation:

So having said that it is difficult to make political art, I wish you all success in doing it. Now a word on politics: I thought it was interesting that you mention "nationalism- my hope to see the restoration of a "good" American ideology/ world view." I strongly agree. I have spent many hours reading the words and deeds of American heroes such as John Quincy Adams, Abraham Lincoln, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Their ideology/world view, which was loved and respected all over the world, has been forgotten here at home. I must question, however, your list of sociologists which you endorse, because I think they represent something very different. In the case of Karl Marx, for example, I think his heart was in the right place, but he was ruined by his British education, which caused him to cast his lot with the philosophical doctrine of materialism. Compare him with Lincoln's advisor Henry C. Carey, with whom Marx carried on a spirited debate via correspondence. Carey's outlook is superior in every respect, but ironically Marx is now better known in America.

I hope you found these comments provocative without being too provocative. That's all for now.
